Our Staff

Rev. Simon Chigumira

Elder Simon Chigumira is a United States citizen, but is originally from Zimbabwe in Africa where he earned a Bachelor and Master of Education and taught school for awhile. In the United States he attended Emory University and Asbury Theological Seminary where he is currently working on his Dissertation.

His wife, Eunice, is also a minister. They have one adult child still at home, their daughter, Sarah.

Pastor Simon served his last church in Louisiana for six years. He has been in Ordained or Licensed Ministry for 20 years and served five other churches in Louisiania.

Simon has chosen to move from the UMC to the Global Methodist Church like our church. We look forward to a long and successful ministry with him here in the foothills of North Carolina.

Cindy Sears - Administrative Assistant

Administrative Assistant and Webmaster, Cindy Sears, has worked at Ebenezer UMC since 2007. She runs the office, edits and publishes the bulletins and monthly newsletter; plus she designed and maintains our website.

As an active member of our church, she is also involved in the life of the church.

Cindy enjoys photography, and dabbles in art using oil, acrylic, pastel, graphite, and color pencils. She enjoys reading and writes an article for the monthly newsletter.

Mary Pennell - Pianist

Mary plays the piano for us on Sundays, and any other time that we have a service or function that needs piano accompaniment. She really knows how to bang those keys, too!
